Why is fitness important to you?

I’m the kind of guy that likes to do his own projects. Staying fit lets me do miscellaneous projects around the house like moving furniture, maintaining my yard and other chores that require a little bit of elbow grease. I also enjoy hanging out with my friends and being active with them. And of course, I enjoy food and beer, so working out helps me offset those calories.

How do you stay motivated/inspired?

Signing up for races is probably the biggest motivator for me. I also follow several of my more active friends and other elite athletes on Strava. Seeing some of their accomplishments are truly inspirational.

Favorite memory from running or event or?

I have so many. From the first 5k race that I ran in with my sister (HAL Scream Scram), to doing my first marathon, my first ultra-marathon, to running in the NYC Marathon last fall.

Anything else you want to share?

Running for me is more than just staying active, it’s a social activity. I have so many friends that I have made through running. I get to meet up with friends and find out what they have been up to.

What is your HAL (your healthy active living items – you can see mine in my signature as an example)?

My HAL is: trail running, bowling, weightlifting, local breweries, walking the dog, friends and family

Should the toilet paper roll be put on with the paper coming out under or over the roll?  HA!

Over the top.
