I am a Colorado Native and reside in Colorado Springs with my husband and two fur babies (a cat named Slack and a dog named Bear). Beyond running I am an avid hikerĀ and am learning how to rock climb. I love camping in the mountains, and enjoy disappearing into nature for a few days at a time. I love backpacking as well, however I tend to car camp more these days. I worked in Yellowstone National Park for 3 summers which really kick started my love of the outdoors and outdoor sports. I am working towards getting more stamps in my National Park Passport and hope to eventually see every park within the U.S.
I really love the racing community and the energy seen at events. I got into running as a coping mechanism to help deal with my anxiety and the physical symptoms that can manifest at times. Before running I spent many days not moving off the couch due to not feeling well. Running has really helped show me that even when I’m not feeling well I can still work through it, and get past those moments. I am also really into nutrition and how proper nutrition can impact you both mentally and physically.
Outside of running and sports, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I love reading and getting lost in books. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places and seeing different cultures. Over this past year I have also developed an obsession with plants, and have actually managed to keep a few alive finally.
My HAL is: Running, climbing, sunshine, forests, family and friends.
